Catchy Headlines In A Swipe File
Competition is intense in the cyberworld. Heaps of pages on any given topic.
If you have a website in a particular niche, it is not only important to rank on the first page on Google for the relevant keywords, it is also important to convince the visitor to stay longer on your page, once they click and come through.

When someone lands on your page, the first thing that will grab their attention is the headline. |
And this is why having a good catchy headline is so so important. We have less than a second to grab our potential customers/visitors attention.
Writing a catchy headline is always not that easy – Some have great copywriting skills but for many (like me) it does not come easy. It is a skill that I am constantly learning.
One of the best ways to learn is to observe the work of other good copywriters. And so I have created a Swipe File For Catchy Headlines. It comes in handy when I am writing my sales letters and(or) email newsletters.
A swipe file is a collection of tested and proven ads and sales letters. Keeping a swipe file (templates) is a common practice used by advertising copywriters and creative directors as a ready reference of ideas for projects.
Souce: Wikipedia
I have three digital swipe files and one physical swipe folder.
Headlines
I have an Excel file where I store attention grabbing catchy headlines.
Email Messages
I have a folder in my inbox called swipe messages. In here I store all emails with catchy messages and catchy subject lines and good signature lines.
Sales letters
I have another excel file where I store good sales letter content and web addresses of sites which have good sales content. When I say, I store good sales letter content, it does not mean that I store the whole page but just the key lines.
I also have a physical folder for my sales letters and sales brochures. These are the letters that I receive in my mail and (or) inserts in magazines etc. I don’t store all of them but just the best ones.
Swipe file is a valuable resource. Use the ideas and then construct your own content.
