How To Change Price On Paypal ?

If you are selling ebooks or any kind of digital products on your website then you are probably using Paypal. I recently decided to change the price of an ebook I have been selling for over a year now. I decided to experiment by increasing the price slightly.

You have to change the price on Paypal side, otherwise it is not going to reflect in the checkout area. You should not be creating new buttons to reflect the price change – this is like reinventing the wheel – because if you change the button code then you have to update the code in lots of different places (on your sales page, third party product delivery products etc). You need to edit the existing button and change the price.

Changing the price on Paypal side is quite simple but Paypal does not have any documentation on it (at least I could not find any). It is a two step process but if you don’t know how to do it, you will end up spending hours on their site.

Let me now take you through the steps involved in changing the price on Paypal:

Log in to your PayPal account.

Click “Profile” from the top of the page.

Click “My saved buttons” in the Selling Preferences column.

Select the button you want to change, and then choose “Edit button” from the menu.

Make your changes to the button, and then click “Save Changes.”

That’s it – once you do this, your new price will be reflected everywhere that button or that code is used – No need to change anything else…

Best,

Should I Buy....Should I Buy ?

A lot of internet marketers make a living by selling internet marketing products to other internet marketers. There are new internet marketing products coming out every day and in all price ranges.

When a new product comes out, every other internet marketer starts talking ‘big’ about that product and they try to get their followers to buy that product. And for every product sold, they earn a commission

But let me try and be honest with you guys today – I don’t actually have any problem with this model. The guys releasing the new products are doing their job and the guys promoting the products are also doing their job.

The only problem I have is with the buyers.

Go buy the product, only if it genuinely meets your needs – otherwise listen to all the hype and ignore. Don’t fall a prey to it.

One of the main reason why people keep buying one course after the other is because they are looking for a secret ingredient. They believe that there is some secret ingredient which is making some internet marketers very rich – a hidden formula. And they are hoping to find that hidden gem in the course.

But the truth is you probably already know all that you really need to know to make your riches in internet marketing. The secret ingredient is not so ‘secret’ at all – the only secret to the riches is hard work with focus, commitment and persistence thrown in.

A lot of these buyers are ‘new course addicts’. They keep buying but don’t implement anything that they read in these courses (that is of course that they are at least reading the courses they are buying).

What annoys me the most, is that these guys come back and complain later about the pricey products and launches and how everyone is promoting each other etc etc…No one forced them to buy – It was their decision.

I make very few purchases online – I have so far made only two purchases – Both have made me heaps of money already – And one of them is Super Affiliate Handbook. And the other, I will reveal later !!!

You really can’t change what others are doing – You stay focused – Don’t fall a victim to the hype – Buy only what you need – And remember, most of the times you actually don’t need anything more than you already have.

What about you – Are you shopaholic for new courses online or do you try and stay away from most of they hype?

Best,

RGB & HEX Color Picker For Firefox

Have you ever been so impressed by colors on a web page and wanted to copy those colors for your page – I am guessing the answer is ‘many times’. It is really quite simple and easy to copy the colors – all that you need to know if the rgb or the hex values for that color. I use a software called ColorZilla. It is an extension of Firefox.

It is a free software and you can download from here – ColorZilla.

Once you download and install ColorZilla, it will show up as below in the left bottom corner of Firefox.

Just click than and point to any place on a web page and it will show you the colors (in RGB and Hex).

Google Search- When To Use Quotes and When Not To

When you are trying to analyze the rankings for your web page or trying to analyze the competition for your keyword, should you or should you not use quotes for the search terms? When should you use quotes and when should you not use quotes?

In my early days, these questions really bothered me quite a bit – But I now know the answer and today I am going to share the answer with you all…

When you use quotes for your search terms, Google will show only the web pages that have the entire phrase in them.

When you don’t use quotes, Google will show web pages that have one or more of the words in the search term.

When you use quotes and search, assume your page ranks on page 4th…Now search without quotes and your page will probably rank on 5th or 6th page or even further.

Quotes
Let’s start with quotes for your search terms. When you are analyzing the competition for your keyword you need to use quotes. When you are analyzing the competition for the keyword ‘Hello Kitty Watches’, you only want the web pages that have the entire phrase in them – not just ‘hello’ or ‘kitty’ or ‘watches’. So by targeting the entire phrase, you are getting a picture of the exact competition to that keyword.

No Quotes
When you are trying to figure out where your web page is ranking for a keyword, then use the search term without quotes. Most web users will search for what they are after without using quotes in their search terms. So, to get a picture of where exactly your page is ranked and to see it at place where most web users are seeing it, you need to search without quotes.

Is this usually how you use quotes and non quotes – If you would like to share any tips on this topic, please leave a comment below…

Best,

A favicon (short for favorites icon), also known as a website icon, shortcut icon, url icon, or bookmark icon is a 16×16, 32×32 or 64×64 pixel square icon associated with a particular website or webpage.
source: Wikipedia

Let me give you an example…

Here is a snapshot of CNN website and I have used an arrow to point to the favicon.

Apart from coming up next to the url, favicon will also come up next to the bookmark.

Adding this favicon is really simple – a simple job but a very good effect. Last night I added the favicon to my new lifestyle themed affiliate blog. Here is how to add a favicon to your lifestyle theme:

Grab the image you want to add as a favicon

Head over to this http://www.chami.com/html-kit/services/favicon/. This website converts your image to a favicon image.

Now upload this image to your images folder of the Lifestyle theme – should be something like this – /wp-content/themes/lifestyle_40/images.

That’t it – Now refresh your website on the browser and you should see the favicon.

If you don’t use lifestyle theme, the first two steps still remain the same. The third step and fourth steps are as follows:

Add the code

anywhere between the
and
tags in your header.php file.

Upload your favicon to the root directory of your blog.

That’s it – You are done.

Have you got a favicon for your website? If not, why not add one today !!!

Best,

Today, I officially launched my new affiliate site – I have around 25 posts in the site and will be writing more in the near future. I did not want wait till my posts are complete – then I will never finish it. So I decided to make the necessary changes to the presentation and launch it – More posts can come later.

I built this site using the methods mention in Super Affiliate Handbook. From tomorrow I will start promoting the site and will be using the methods mentioned in the book.

Super Affiliate Handbook is an excellent book – and I am so glad I purchased it. Everything is outlined in there in detailed steps – all that you have to do is put the steps into practice.

To find what I really think about the book, click – Super Affiliate Handbook Review.

In one of my earlier posts, I mentioned that I will be providing daily progress details as I am building this site. I never did that – I apologize for not keeping the promise. I was just consumed in doing it that I forgot to put it all into posts.

When Work Is Not 'Work'

I absolutely love what I do for my living. For me work is not ‘work’. It is more like a hobby. It is not a chore – It is something I look forward to.

I work really long hours but don’t really feel the pain of working these long hours. I have absolutely no complaints about the long hours. If anything, I wish I could work for more hours.

A lot of people wrongly assume that making money online is easy. Only the people who are in this business know how much work it really involves.

Like in any business, it involves a lot of long nights, early starts – and only after all the hard yards we slowly start seeing the profits coming in.

Building any business involves a lot of hard work – not for a day or a week or a month but for many months. And this continued hard work is not possible unless you are passionate about what you do.

If you are not passionate about what you do for living, the long hours will soon become a chore and soon after that you will lose interest in continuing forward – And even if you do continue moving forward, your heart will not be in the work – and this will show in the quality of your output.

Finding what you are passionate about is not always easy – For some their hobby is their passion and these people can build a business around their hobby. For me, I was not particularly passionate about any of hobbies. I spent quite some time figuring out what I am really really passionate about. But no luck – Nothing came to me.

And so rather than wasting more time thinking and analyzing, I started out as a freelance software programmer. After a couple of hard months, I started doing quite well – the work kept me quite busy for more than 5 years. While I was still working in this business, I stumbled across internet marketing and slowly I started learning more about it – And within a year of my first encounter, I gave up my software business and started full time as an internet marketer.

So, what I am trying to say here is – if you don’t know what you are passionate about, and have already spent some time trying to figure out what it is you want to do, then don’t waste more time…Start your business today – It doesn’t have to be something you are absolutely passionate about – Just Start – Along the way, you will find your true passion.

I am so glad that 7 years after starting my first business, I now know what I am truly passionate about. And because of how passionate I am about what I do for my living, my work is not ‘work’ – It is so much fun !!!!

What are you passionate about ? How did you go about discovering what you are passionate about ? Please leave a comment below and share your story with us…

Featured Content Gallery is a WordPress plugin that creates an automated rotating image gallery of your posts for use anywhere within your theme. As I mentioned before I am currently working on a new affiliate site and this site uses the LifeStyle theme.

This morning I loaded the Featured Content Gallery plugin on to the home page of my new site – and it looks really cool. Pity I can’t show you a snapshot – because it is under a pen name.

Though I can’t share my site, I am going to do the next best thing – I am going to take you step by step through how to load this plugin on to your lifestyle theme. Let’s get started:

Go to Featured Content Gallery website and download the plugin – and then install it on to your site.

Go to the admin page of your wordpress blog – click ‘Settings’. At the bottom of Settings menu you should see a link to ‘Featured Content Gallery’. Click that.

Now we are going to configure the settings – There are only 5 things we need to change:

Category Name: Enter a category name. All the posts under this category will be shown in the Featured Content Gallery. I have entered ‘Featured’.

Number of items to display: For now I have entered 3 but I later plan to change it to 5.

Gallery Width: This is totally up to you but I prefer ’570′.

Gallery Height: Again, this is totally up to you but I prefer ’300′.

Text Overlay: I prefer 80 – this is the text overlay on the bottom of the image in the gallery – basically the first few lines of the post.

You have now changed the settings – click ‘Update Options’.

Next go to a post you want to appear in the gallery and add the category ‘Featured’ to it – If this category does not already exist, you will have to create it.

Add a new custom field for that post called ‘articleimg’. Enter the url of the image you want to be shown in the gallery in the value field. Make sure this image is at least 570 *300 (otherwise it will still work but will not look that good).

Do the same for another post – For the plugin to work properly you need at least two posts set up (category and articleimg custom field)

Now go to the home page – You should see the rotating images – That’s it you are done.

I love the Featured Content Gallery Plugin on my lifestyle theme – Gives it such a professional touch.

Have you used this plugin before – Any tips/experiences you would like to share with us? Please leave a comment below…

Best,
