Home Description Of Your Main Page

Description of a web page plays an important part in Optimizing your page. I normally give some thought to the description of my individual posts – I make sure they make sense and have the right keywords in them.

This morning I did search for my blog name in Google – I searched for imbizjourney.com. Look at the description of my blog:

I obviously had given no thought to the description and title tag of my home page – What a shame !!!

The description I have there makes absolutely no sense – Not happy with title as well. I basically have no description and title tag set for my main page. In such cases wordpress pulls the first couple of sentences of my most recent indexed post and uses that as description. and for title tag, because I did not set a title tag, wordpress has used the site name as the title tag.

To fix this, I went to the admin panel of my blog. I use All in One SEO plugin for my title and description tags. So under Settings, I clicked All in One SEO and entered description and title tag for my homepage.
