How To Create A Fan Page On Facebook ?

This morning I created a Facebook fan page for my blog. It was not as straightforward as I thought – But after an hour I finally made it !!

I am going to now share with you how to create a Facebook fan page (so that you don’t have to climb the mountains I did to get my Facebook fan page up and going)….

You need a personal account to create your fan page. If you don’t already have a personal account on Facebook, create one.
Now log into your personal Facebook page.

Click on ‘Ads and Pages’ on the left hand side of your Facebook account home page
On the page that follows, click on ‘Pages’ (should be on the left hand side)

Click ‘Create Page’ (should be situated at the top of the page)

Select ‘Brand, Product, or Organization’ for category and then choose Website. Next give your page a name – When creating a page for this blog, I gave the page the name – ImBizJourney.
Basically give a name you want to brand your company/website/blog by – I don’t want the fan page to have my name – I prefer my blog’s name and that’s why I chose ImBizJourney
The page is now created – Next, you need to become a fan of the page. On top of the page there is a link to ‘Become a Fan’. Click that. This page will now appear on your pages list under your profile.
Now you need to link your page and your blog – this linking will allow excerpt of your post to be posted on your page.
To do this first go to the page in your Facebook account where you have all your pages listed…And then click on the name of your page – This will take you that page’s view.
Click on the ‘+’ sign at the top of the page and then click ‘Notes’.
On the Notes page, click ‘Import a blog’.

On the next page, enter the url address of your blog and click ‘Start Importing’. That’s it – Your page is now linked to your blog – It will automatically check your blog for updates regularly and put the excerpts on the page.
Finally the username of the page – I would like the page to have a url like www.facebook.com/imbizjourney. For this to happen I need at least 25 fans. Until then I have to live with the url assigned by Facebook.
