Now that I have my domain name ready, the next step is to host the domain name. Go Daddy itself provides hosting services but I prefer HostMonster. Whilst Go Daddy’s domain registration services are top notch, their hosting services does not have the same reputation.

For less than $7 a month you can host unlimited domains with HostMonster.

Currently they have a promotion and you can host your domains for just $5.95 a month.

I have been hosting my domains with them for more than two years now – Couple of times I had a few issues, I contacted them through their live chat and the issues were addressed straight away.

The service, the features – a complete package – I will go as far as saying that HostMonster is one of the best web hosting company out there.

Hostmonster comes with a control panel and installing various programs are simple clicks and drags – example installing WordPress is just 4 clicks away (first click is to click Fantastico which is on Control Panel). Setting FTP accounts, SQL databases, backing up your websites, email set up etc etc are all super easy.

There are way too many features on control panel. I barely use 10% of the features offered. I have pasted below the images of the features available on HostMonster.

I am not a very technical person – I learn things that I need to use now and that’s about it – I don’t understand all the techno jargon – I only understand what I need to – If any technology is too complicated and needs too much of learning time then I give it a miss – Now, if I say that HostMonster is the best web hosting company, then that is saying something – It is super easy to use – even for me .

No wonder, HostMonster got selected as the top web hosting company in 2009.

Coming back to my affiliate site, I installed WordPress (by clicking Fantastico), set up email accounts and have set up a FTP account. That’s it – just these three things and am now ready to publish content and design the site. More about this in the coming posts…
